To make life easier and meaningful for every family
In 2003 twin brothers Antony and Richard Joseph decided to join forces and launch Joseph Joseph with the goal of creating functional, problem-solving household products.
As long as the brothers can remember, they’ve always been fascinated by design. They grew up in a family manufacturing business, which really ignited their passion for design, engineering and invention.
From an early age, the brothers were designing and building products in a workshop at home and their passion for making things continued through their university years and into their early careers as product designers.
Joseph Joseph started life relatively small with only a few products in its early collection. This collection included a number of kitchen items but there was one product that stood out; a simple glass chopping board. The functional, hygienic nature of the chopping board shifted the brothers’ focus onto designing everyday products with a core problem-solving approach.
They looked at other areas of the kitchen and soon found that the majority of products out there simply weren’t performing as well as they should and so started on a path to transform household essentials.
The brand has now grown to include innovative and functional products not only for the kitchen but areas within waste management and cleaning tools.Read More Facebook
Like most parents, Melissa Kieling aimed to send her children to school with the freshest and healthiest lunches possible. She grew up in a farming community in Iowa where her mom made everything from scratch and all of their food came from the backyard garden.
By the time Melissa had three school-age kids of her own, eating well away from home wasn’t so simple. She was frustrated with the disappointing options for keeping her kids’ lunches cool and safe at school. She'd have to stick toxic freezable gel packs in their lunchboxes, which inevitably got lost, or use wasteful plastic baggies of ice that always leaked. Even then, her kids complained that the fresh blueberries Melissa packed became too hot and mushy to eat by lunchtime.
One day Melissa thought to herself, “Why hasn't anyone put freezable gel inside the walls of a bag to keep things cool?” She cut apart a set of quilted ice packs and a shower curtain on her dining room table and pinned them together. Then she took it to her dry cleaner and asked her to sew together a prototype. Melissa popped the bag in the freezer overnight and gave it to her kids to test at school. To Melissa's delight, her bag finally kept healthy food cool all day! Her children raved about how fresh their meals tasted; soon Melissa's friends were asking for freezable lunch bags of their own. That’s when she realized that her idea had the potential to change lives everywhere. Families deserved a cooler that actually cooled, and she was just the mom to deliver it.
Melissa patented her idea, teamed up with a friend to start the business and worked with some of the best product manufacturers to bring her idea to life. In 2009 she launched the Personal Cooler, a foldable, freezable lunch bag that could keep food and drinks cool up to 10 hours—no ice packs needed.
It is a remarkable achievement. To build a product line from your garage in New Zealand to a point 30 years later where it is exported to 82 countries around the world and counts its customers in the millions.
Managing Director Brendan Lindsay is proud of his success and that of his team at their state of the art 200,000 sq foot factory in New Zealand. Taking the simple premise that customers would want a well made, beautifully designed, food safe storage container that would be stackable, the Sistema range was born.
The Klip It collection with its distinctive blue clips launched the company into the Australian and New Zealand markets. That range has now been added to with the release of the Microwave and To Go family of products designed for added convenience.Read More Facebook
As New Yorkers, we work and live on the go. We seldom drive, which means having to carry everything with us that we need for the day. When you're battling morning rush hour on the subway, biking to work, or pushing a stroller around, adding a bulky travel mug to the equation just isn't an option. Unfortunately, like most people, we often end up choosing the convenience of a disposable cup over doing the right thing for the planet.
A few years ago, while on a coffee break near work the three of us began talking about the disposable cups in our hands and how Americans toss 58 billion disposable cups annually. Aware that we were contributing directly to that staggering number, we decided to do something about it.
Excited about our idea, we got to work. Three years after that initial brainstorming session, the Stojo Pocket Cup was born. It was the world's first ultra-portable, leak-proof reusable cup.Read More Facebook
